Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel.Oh come, strong branch of Jesse, free
Your own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell your people save
And give them victory over the grave.The lessons were read by Sascha and Sophia, of the Sunday School.
- Isaiah 40:1-11
Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God...
A voice cries out: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in a desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. then the glory o the Lord shall be revealed..."- 2 Peter 3:8-15a
...with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord is not slow about his promise... but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentence...
The Sunday School Choir ministered to us
Said the night wind to the little lamb,
Do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite- The Gospel Lesson: Mark 1:1-8
As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, "See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way; the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight"...
- Closing Hymn:
Joy to the world! the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
and heaven and nature sing,
and heaven and nature sing,
and heaven, and heaven and nature sing.Let us go in peace and serve the Lord.
